KNIGHTS STREAM SKATEPARK - CHCH

  • A 1.2m to 1.8m deep flow bowl with a chill area and slappy kerb.

  • Street skate area that included a bank, hubba and stair setup with a china bank, a pump bump, a quarter pipe ledge pyramid with banked ledge A frame round rail.

  • A flat open space area which includes a perfect ledge and manual setup, pole jam, flat skinny rail and a bank and kerb.

  • A sun shelter with full covered roof is provided next to the bowl and includes seating.

  • Feature landscape poles are included to pick up on the theme within the rest of the park and subdivision.

  • Two paths provide connection with the existing carpark and paths to the pavilion and toilets were constructed.

  • Specimen trees will be planted along the carpark frontage as part of the subdivision works. Additional trees and landscaping were also included on the north and east side of the skate facility.

The skate park complements the existing family orientated community space and is aimed at riders of a beginner to intermediate level. The bowl is deeper than the bowl proposed at the other new facility in Halswell Domain and will provide more challenge for users.

All the above items were completed by Hunter Civil staff with the exception of the landscaping which was completed by landscape contractor.

Hunter Civil completed this project to a high standard. The Designer and industry were rapt with the impressive quality of the concrete work on the finished park. Shortly after the completion of the skate park during the school holidays a skate school was run by CCC and local skate shop Cheapskates, Hunter Civil were present at this day and received great feedback from skaters and the wider community about the success and quality of the finished skate park.
