Upgrade to the Leachate Sub-Cap Drainage and Landfill Gas pipe works system inside the landfill. Works included welding and installation of large diameter PE pipe in close proximity to, and connecting to the existing gas extraction network. 

 

The contractor-led redesign of the leachate collection fields and the gas extraction network was required to tie into the challenging existing network. These works required close coordination with the landfill management not to disrupt the operations. 

 

These works provided permanent Landfill Gas collection for continued power generation, prevention of uncontrolled gas emissions to the environment and control of toxic leachate.
